Energy-Intensive Business Carbon Offset (Per Employee)

$959.99 / year

A 2019 report found that 37% of consumers prefer and are willing to pay up to 5% more for environmentally friendly products!(1) Additionally, the report found that a majority of U.S. consumers feel that the actions of companies are more important for environmental change than are government regulations. This is your call to act.

You are about to take an important first step toward running your business in a sustainable and environmentally-friendly manner. Voluntary carbon offset is something that is extremely honorable and it will become commonplace in the years to come.

Each annual subscription will allow Green Future to plant enough trees to offset the carbon emissions of one employee of your business(2). Please select the appropriate number of employees at checkout. No one from Green Future will come to audit your payroll, but dishonesty here only reduces your benefit to the environment.

This option is for small businesses where employees have carbon emissions that are up to four times the emissions of an average U.S. resident(2). This could be due to constant use of motor vehicles, for example a business wholly based on shipping products long distances, or a large farming operation. Keep in mind that this can only be a rough estimate and a margin of error is included(2).

Each year, this offset is guaranteed to result in the planting per employee of at least 580 trees on 1 acre of new forest in the Midwest United States. That is an area of forest nearly the size of a football field per employee each year. A 15-employee business using this option would plant 8,700 trees on 15 acres each year!

You will receive:

  • A digital certificate of your carbon offset
  • Program status updates via email
  • Support and contact with Green Future
  • A link to order Green Future merchandise & physical marketing materials
  • A customized article for public release

(see below for more details)

Enter the name that you would like appear on your certificate of carbon offset (e.g. “Smith’s Coffee Shop” or “Ellen Smith, Founder, Smith Coffee Co.”). Please do not use quotation marks or any punctuation that you do not want to appear on the certificate.

Description

Energy-Intensive Business Carbon Offset (Per Employee, Annual)

Year after year, businesses are becoming more conscious of the need to reduce carbon emissions in order to limit the effects of climate change. This not only affects consumers’ actions in day-to-day life, but also influences how and where they buy, as well as the feeling they get while doing so.

A 2019 report found that 37% of consumers prefer and are willing to pay up to 5% more for environmentally friendly products!(1) Additionally, the report found that a majority of U.S. consumers feel that the actions of companies are more important for environmental change than are government regulations. You will receive:

  • A digital certificate of your carbon offset: This certifies your business’ carbon offset and includes your business name (or the text you choose), the number of trees planted, newly established forest acreage, and the location of planting project in the midwestern United States.
  • Program status updates via email: We will keep you updated on the status of your planting project and Green Future’s activities overall. These updates will include images of the projects as they are carried out and as the trees grow. Additionally, completed projects appear on our homepage under “Success Stories” and will be updated at least annually to track growth and progress.
  • Green Future support and point of contact: We understand the gravity and importance of the commitment you are making to running your business in a sustainable way, and we are 100% dedicated to this mission as well. We are here ready to answer any questions, concerns, or support requests that you may have.
  • A link to order Green Future Merchandise & Physical Marketing Materials: Show off the commitment your business has made to carbon neutrality with our stickers, signage, hats, and more. Why is this not included in the price? In order to have the greatest impact on the environment and plant the greatest number of trees, we do not include physical merchandise in standard offset packets. Also, you only receive the merchandise you want, saving wasteful emissions unnecessary packing materials for something you may not have wanted.
      • For larger custom offset projects that can include customized marketing materials featuring your logo and information, please submit a request for quotation.
  • A customized article for public release: Green Future will send you an article about your commitment to carbon-neutral operations that you can use to inform your customers or the public about your good deed.

2 Emissions are based on the average carbon emissions of one individual in the United States and sourced from The World Bank [Accessed here: CO2 Emissions (metric tons per capita) – United States | Data (worldbank.org) ] An approximate 30% margin of error is included to allow for above average emissions or below average tree growth and survivability. This means we plant 30% more trees than the average it would take to offset your emissions.
